So you want to do Computational Neuroscience?
Undergraduates. If you are an Ohio University undergraduate
(or an undergraduate looking for a summer research position)
then you will need to have sufficient preparation. To work
in this lab, you should have mathematics beyond freshman calculus,
preferably through differential equations. You also should have some
computer programming experience, perhaps a course in Fortran or C.
Ideally you should also have experience with some flavor of Unix. If
your preparation is lacking in one of these areas, then come and talk
with me. If your preparation is lacking in more than one area, you can
still come and talk with me, but I will probably tell you to work on your
preparation more before I consider taking you into the lab.
Graduate Work. If you are applying to our graduate program and you are
interested in computational neuroscience, then I would expect you to have
the preparation noted above for undergraduates.
Post-doctoral opportunities. There are post-doctoral opportunities in
this lab. Please contact me. You should already have a strong
computational neuroscience background from your graduate work.
Organization for Computational Neuroscience The Organization for
Computational Neuroscience organizes the annual CNS*20XX meeting. Below are some pictures
from the CNS*2006 meeting in Edinburgh (courtesy of D. Glanzman).
