Research Summary:

My research interests concern the pattern and process of genetic variation and population differentiation in natural animal populations.   I am interested in measuring genetic variation and identifying the historical and ecological influences on its distribution.   Ongoing studies include 1) stock structure in Ohio River walleye using mtDNA and microsatellite DNA variation, 2) population genetics and systematics in the least brook lamprey, 3) population genetic structure in the stonecat, 4) social and genetic structure in small mammals,  5) conservation genetics.
